Drawtober 2025#
For this year's drawtober, I will essentially draw concept arts for my own fantasy world.
Day 1#

Character concept research. Flower pendants are worn to demonstrate the affiliation to a flower lord.
Day 2#

Character concept research. Growing flowers on the skull is a secretly guarded (and thus costly) process used by the aristocracy as a status symbol and only done at botanic academies. Each flower represents a family and seeds are incredibly expensive. Hijacking this process to grow brambles, a parasite plant used by commoners, is considered an insult.
Day 3#

Creature concept research. With a height of around 3 meters, it travel in packs of hundreds and destroy everything in their way by cutting it with their « beaks » (woodpecker style) who’s made of an almost indestructible material. Nobody know where they come from or reproduce, if they eat, how they communicate. When they die, the pack destroys the corpse, making them impossible to study. If one would manage to retrieve the beak, they would be able to craft incredible things out of it.
Day 4#

Flower drawing practice. Flower harvesters are tasked by their masters with finding giant flowers that could, in a few hundred years and with the right conditions, become habitable like the existing ones. Unfortunately, most giant flowers die before reaching a decent size, mostly due to brambles suffocating them.
Day 5#

Flower drawing practice. Carnivorous plants share the nutriments they receive from their preys to their host, hence limiting the necessity of transporting food during harvest expeditions. Grafting flowers is often done for religious or political benefits. But when a plant is grafted, it allows the host to benefit from its characteristics.
Day 6#

Quick costume study. After the skull graft of their flower seeds, and until the reveal to the lord, students of the botanic school wear a mandatory headdress to hide their blooms to everybody. Removing it is only allowed during individual sun bath hours. Depending on the flower, the headdress can become quite tall.
Day 7#

Quick lore study. The dried head plants are a well hidden secret among the botanic academy. No one knows how they are made, but all have been discovered where disappearances have been reported, mainly in dense bramble areas that are rarely explored. Rumour has it that a creature vegetates humans. Head plants can be moisturized to be revived, and some of them can even speak. Unfortunately, they just mumble incoherently about imaginary worlds.
Day 8#

Quick character study. Harvesters can lose a lot of weight and muscles during their missions due to the lack of proper nutrition. When they come back to the botanical school, they usually eat and exercise a lot, leading to excessive body changes.
